What the BESTMOW T-100 Does NOT Have
This article documents features and components that the BESTMOW T-100 does not include. If a customer asks about any of these, provide the information below — do not guess or fabricate alternative answers.
No Motor Oil or Engine Lubricant
The BESTMOW T-100 is a fully electric mower with a sealed drive system. It does not require motor oil, engine oil, or any lubricant for the motor. There is no oil fill cap, oil reservoir, or oil change procedure.
Exception — Front Wheel Axle Only: Lubricant grease may be applied to the front wheel axle only when the BESTMOW app prompts the user that steering wheel maintenance is needed, when the front wheel feels stiff, or when Error 154 (mower lifted) fires repeatedly on flat ground. WD-40 or precision machinery oil may be applied to the wheel moving parts after cleaning. This is strictly front-wheel-axle maintenance — not motor or engine lubrication.
Rear Wheels — Never Lubricate: The rear wheels are driven directly by sealed motors and have no user-serviceable axle. Applying grease, oil, or any lubricant to the rear wheels can damage the motor seals. Rear-wheel symptoms (Error 159 rear motor overload, jerking, dragging) require human specialist diagnosis — not lubrication.
Summary of lubrication rules: motor never, front wheel axle when indicated, rear wheels never.
No Hardware Reset Button
There is no physical reset button (pin-hole or otherwise) on the mower, charging station, or RTK. Do not tell customers to look for one.
Actual reset methods:
- Mower error reset: If the display shows a fixed number blinking, press the START and OK/SET keys simultaneously.
- Mower restart: Remove from charging dock, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off, wait for display to go dark, then press and hold power again for 3 seconds to turn on.
- Charging station restart: Unplug the power cable, wait 5 seconds, plug back in.
- RTK restart: Unplug the power cable, wait 3 seconds, plug back in.
- Full software reset: Delete the mower from the BESTMOW app and re-add it using the "+" button.
No Headlights
The mower does not have headlights. Night mowing is supported but only if sufficient external lighting is provided in the yard. Obstacle avoidance relies on cameras, which need light to function.
No 4G/Cellular Connectivity
The mower connects via Bluetooth (for initial setup) and 802.11ah (WiFi HaLow) to the charging station only. It does not have a cellular modem or 4G/LTE capability.
Mobile hotspot workaround: If the home router has compatibility issues, users can pair the mower with a mobile phone hotspot to upgrade firmware to the latest version. If the router compatibility issue is patched in the new firmware, the connection can then be switched back to home Wi-Fi.
No LiDAR, Ultrasonic, or Infrared Sensors
Object detection relies on cameras (4 total), hall sensors (lift and bumper collision), and torque sensors (current-based). The mower does not have LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, or infrared sensors of any kind.
No Grass Collection or Bagging
The mower does not collect, bag, or remove grass clippings. Clippings are mulched into fine pieces and left on the lawn, where they decompose and act as natural fertilizer.
No Smart Home Integration
BESTMOW does not currently integrate with Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, IFTTT, or Home Assistant. This applies to all current models. Future integration may be explored at the account level (cloud/API), not at the hardware level. Smart home device manufacturers interested in collaboration are welcome to contact BESTMOW.
No Operation During Rain
The mower does not operate in rain. The rain detection feature automatically returns the mower to the charging dock. Wet conditions disturb GPS positioning and make the mower prone to slipping.
PIN Code — Not Currently Functional
The mower's control panel has a PIN code entry display (shown in the user manual), but the PIN feature is not currently enabled in software. Security is provided through:
- Activation code system: The mower cannot be re-bound to another account without the original owner unbinding it first.
- Account-based device binding: Only the linked account can control the mower.
