[C079] Mower Failed to Connect to the Charging Station
Error C079 indicates the mower cannot establish a connection with the charging station. This is one of the most common errors encountered during initial setup, after winter storage, and after receiving a replacement device.
Common Scenario — Replacement Device Just Received (Read This First)
If the customer reports they have recently received a replacement mower, charging station, or a full replacement set (mower + station + RTK), go to step 4 (SN match verification) BEFORE working through steps 1–3.
Each mower is paired one-to-one with its charging station by serial number. The new mower works only with the new charging station, and the old mower works only with the old charging station. If the customer is mixing units across the old set and the new set (e.g., old mower placed on new charging station, or old charging station with new mower), C079 is the expected behavior — not a connectivity bug. The fix is to use the new mower and new charging station together as a matched pair, and to return the entire old set per the replacement instructions.
Important: A successful physical charge does NOT confirm pairing. The charging contacts conduct power regardless of whether the mower and station are wirelessly matched. C079 specifically reports the HaLow (802.11ah) wireless link, which requires the serial numbers on the mower's label and the charging station's label to be a matched pair. Customers who see the mower charging on the new station and assume pairing is working will continue to get C079 in the app — investigate SN match first.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check if the charging station green LED is on.
- Green LED is off: The charging station has no power. Check the power strip, wall socket, and power adapter cable. If the outlet works but the LED stays off, the power adapter may be faulty — contact BESTMOW support for a replacement adapter.
- Green LED is on: The charging station has power. Proceed to step 2.
- Confirm the mower is powered on. The mower display should be lit. If not, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn it on.
- Place the mower on the charging station and ensure it is properly seated. Ask the customer to take a photo of the mower on the charging station showing the LED lights.
- Verify the mower and charging station are matched (paired). Each mower is paired with a specific charging station during initial setup. If the customer received a replacement mower or charging station, the serial numbers may not match. Collect the mower SN and charging station SN and verify they are a matched pair.
- Restart both devices:
- Drag the mower off the charging station.
- Unplug the charging station, wait 5 seconds, plug back in.
- Power off the mower (hold power button 3 seconds, wait for display to go dark), then power back on.
- Place the mower back on the charging station.
If the Issue Persists
If the green LED is on, the mower is powered on, the SNs match, and restarting does not resolve the error, escalate to a human support agent. The charging station or mower's wireless module may need replacement.
Common Scenario — After Winter Storage
C079 frequently appears when customers bring the mower out of winter storage without having charged the battery during the off-season. Ensure the mower battery is charged (plug in and wait) before attempting to connect.
