Winter Storage and Winterization
Storing the Mower
- Store the mower indoors in a dry, low-humidity, dust-free environment.
- Temperature range: 0–45°C (32–113°F).
- Avoid locations with corrosive gases or direct sunlight.
Storing the Battery
- Fully charge the battery before storage.
- Recharge every 60 days during the off-season to prevent battery damage.
- Failure to recharge every 60 days may void the warranty.
Charging Station
Store the charging station indoors during winter. Disconnect the power adapter and bring the station inside to protect it from extreme cold and moisture.
RTK Base Station
The RTK base station can remain in place outdoors. It is designed for outdoor installation.
Spring Restart Procedure
- Move the charging station back to its outdoor location and plug in the power adapter.
- Place the mower on the charging station and turn it on.
- Open the BESTMOW app and verify Wi-Fi and RTK connections are established.
- Skip the mapping process — maps from last season are retained and should work with the existing RTK and charging station positions.
- Run a test mow to confirm everything is operating normally.
Additional seasonal guidance is published on the BESTMOW bulletin board when winter approaches.
RTK Relocation Warning
If the RTK base station is moved during winter storage, all existing maps may need to be recreated. The RTK's position is used as a reference for all map data. Even a small change in position can invalidate the maps. If you must move the RTK, be prepared to remap in the spring. If possible, leave the RTK in its installed position outdoors.
⚠️ Critical — Charging Station and RTK Positions
If the charging station is moved indoors for winter, it must be returned to the same location in spring. The mower's maps are stored as coordinates relative to the charging station's position.
The RTK should remain in place outdoors through the winter. If both the charging station and RTK positions change, all maps will be corrupted and must be recreated. See the RTK and Charging Station Relocation Guide for details.
